The Valley of the Tears - Today we tackle the gentler version of a route whose name is known to many visitors of this island. However, it is a name that we feel misrepresents a route that is more rewarding than it is lachrymatory. We start climbing gently in the foothills above Mogan, taking in the wonderful ascents of the Azulejos. Once revitalised in La Aldea de San Nicolas, the main challenge of the day lies ahead. Let the winding road carry you through landscapes that transform from arid crags to the green and captivating rich heart of the island. At the right times of the year it is awash with the colour of almond blooms, with even a festival to their magnificence. As we reach our final descent from Ayacata back to the south, enjoy every sinuous curve back down to the beckoning seashore.
